Our book How To Make Webcomics got nominated for a Harvey Award in the category of Best Biographical, Historical or Journalistic Presentation! It was probably my chapter on how internet domains work that put us over the top. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at Baltimore Comic-Con this October.

I haven't officially announced it here until now, but if you miss me on the west coast this July at San Diego Comic Con, you can catch me on the east coast the following weekend at Connecticon 2009! It's going to be me and my pal Brad from Evil Inc, Courting Disaster and Phables. The two of us in Halfpixel with the most strips! Come on, Dave, Scott's doing Ding on weekends. You gotta get on the bus. It's going to be a whirlwind bicoastal debut for my two new books, Starslip Crisis Volume 3 and Chainsawsuit 2! I'm holding off on the pre-order for now so that there won't be such a long wait between your order and when you receive it -- but the second it's available you'll find out right here! And soon!

Hey Panasonic, what's the first usage of this technology that springs to mind? Oh, a TV remote control! Of course. Constructed of a soft, flesh-like gel, the remote appears cold when off. Once turned on, however, it seems to come to life. A soft light emanates somewhere from within as the center of the device begins to slowly rise and fall, mimicking the tranquil motions of breath. Left undisturbed, the remote will slumber peacefully. But should a human hand approach, sensors inside alert it to the imminent touch. It stops breathing, grows rigid – the light from within is extinguished. You know, they say the remote control is one of the filthiest objects in a household.

Pretty neat. I've been under the weather and out of touch this weekend, but I'll backfill the missing strips tonight -- and I have something cool to show you guys courtesy of two other webcartoonists. Tonight!
